NEW HydroElite II™ ROLLER COVER

Designed with both sheet fed and web offset printers in mind, BOSCH new waterside HydroElite II proprietary elastomer cover is water receptive or hydrophilic. It was developed by BOSCH Research and Development in response to the demand for an elastomer roll cover that would work with today's fountain solution systems. HydroElite II applications include water form, water metering, water rider and bridge roller positions. In fact, HydroElite II can be used in any offset press soft roller position that carries water (fountain solution).

Used with any fountain solution or any fountain system employing alcohol substitutes, HydroElite II rollers are run "bareback." HydroElite II rollers can help reduce your alcohol levels if alcohol substitutes are not used. HydroElite II also can be used in place of cloth, paper or other sleeve-type covers, thus decreasing down time spent replacing the sleeve covers. Quick and easy wash up is achieved with standard press washes.

HydroElite II is a truly hydrophilic elastomer since HydroElite II actually absorbs some water. Hardening or shrinkage is reduced or even eliminated.

HydroElite II can produce significant savings especially for web press installations that are set up to run a variety of web widths. The dead ends created by a centered, narrow web can reduce life expectancies for sleeved rolls due to the use of water stops and ink dividers.

Replacing your conventional roller with HydroElite II is as simple as changing conventional rollers. The only suggestion is to set a slightly lighter stripe.

HydroElite II covers are not simply surface treated - they are monolithic. This means they can be fully reconditioned, as needed.

1. What is one good definition of the best offset printing?

It has been said that the best offset printing is experienced when the rollers are set as lightly and evenly as possible to apply the least amount of ink and fountain solution to the plate and in turn to the blanket and finally to the substrate to create an acceptable impression.
